The Good News of Health Care Reform

Click the pic to enlarge

I got the idea for this cartoon after recently attending a statewide conference for family physicians. During one of the gatherings a senator had to field some questions from some of the physicians regarding their patients concerns over euthanasia and 'death panels' as part of the new healthcare system. My initial thinking while formulating the above scenario was mocking the hysterical reactions to health care reform, but it also reflects my concern for the inefficiency we might get if we let the government take over our health care.

Why assume that a national health service for the USA could display greater 'inefficiency' than the current system where 46 million of your fellow Americans haven't access to a decent level of health care. Here in Britain, such a percentage of people denied care would be unthinkable. Isn't it time to tackle the disgusting insurance industry with their prioritising of profits over patients, rather than attack Obama for trying to end America's health disgrace ?

Just trying to get a laugh. Petedoc, I'll count you as one vote for: 'the comic is not funny'. Unfortunately, I have experienced first hand our government's attempt at a health care system, compliments of the U.S. Dept. of Veterans Affairs. To put it very mildly this system is not good; and this is what we do for the people who above all deserve the very best we have to offer. You might be a little more convincing if you could serve your opinion with your undoubtedly awesome accent, but even still I don't think you have a clue.
