Mars Polar Lander May Be Sighted

Nearly six years after NASA's Mars Polar Lander vanished during a landing attempt on the Red Planet, a scientist said he has spotted what appears to be wreckage of the spacecraft....More from Yahoo.

I found this story interesting since it was apparently discovered via telescope (if I read the article correctly).

They found it using the Mars Orbiter Camera (MOC) aboard NASA's Mars Global Surveyor. The story is being published in Sky and Telescope Magazine, Here is a little more detail to the story from S&T. Apparently, later this year they plan to adjust the camera's resolution to 0.5 meter per pixel and image the area again so we can look forward to getting better pics of the area.
